Where we are: Ogliastra
Located on the central coast of eastern Sardinia. Its territory covers an area of approximately 1,854 kmē. The province recently established, has 23 municipalities including the provincial capitals and Tortoli Lanusei. It indicates the presence of a port and an airport both located in Arbatax. The main roads that connect the island to the other centers are the SS125 (direction of Cagliari and Olbia) and ss389 (direction Nuoro, Sassari, Olbia, Oristano).
The name derives from the particularity of the Ogliastra area full of olive trees a thousand years old, but some comes from "Agugliastra", a huge rock overlooking the sea. Located in central east of Sardinia, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, an area untouched, enclosed between the sea and mountains, plateaus, plains, lakes and forests framed by clear blue sea stretches of beaches and small coves and long and high reefs, shallow and sandy, ideal habitat for sea-kayaking.
